When playing a file, the id3 tags Artist, Title and playback timers etc are displayed on the "WPS" screen. Press ON to toggle the WPS display and go back to the dir browser. The file remains playing. Press ON again to get back to WPS. To stop playback, press Player:STOP / Recorder:OFF while in the WPS. On the Recorder, OFF also stops playback in the dir browser. The Player cannot stop playback while in the dir browser. Press Player:MENU / Recorder:F1 to enter the menu. There are a few settings and a Version display screen. No settings are stored on the Player version, so they get reset to default after each reboot. On the Recorder, settings are stored in battery-backed up ram, so they remain until you remove the batteries. Press Player:MENU+STOP / Recorder:F1+DOWN in WPS mode to enable key lock. Performance ----------- We have tested with bit rates from 32 to 320 kbit/s and sample frequencies from 11 to 48 kHz. If you experience skipping, please report it! Playlists --------- Files ending in ".m3u" are assumed to be playlist files. The supported file format for playlists are plain text: One file path per line. Both back- and forward slashed are supported, as well as drive letters (which are simply ignored). Lines starting with # are considered comments and thus ignored. Playlist files are limited to max 10000 entries. Entry 10001 and above are ignored. A menu option selects whether to play the list in shuffled order. Directory playback (clicking PLAY on an mp3 file in the dir browser) also uses playlist options such as shuffle and repeat. Limitations and Known bugs -------------------------- There are a number of shortcomings and limitations that may be addressed in later versions: - Max 200 files in a dir - No dir/file indication in Player dir browser - No remote control support - The fonts on the Recorder lack many international characters - Although the clock is displayed, there is no way to set it - Playlist repeat is hard coded to "Repeat all". Bug reports ----------- If you find that one of the supported features misbehave, please file a bug report on our web page. Do not report missing features as bugs, instead file them as feature requests. License ------- All files in this archive are subject to the GNU General Public License.
